Occupy Wall Street Gains Support of the Hip Hop Community

With the Occupy Wall Street protest standing strong inside of Zucotti Park in New York City, the protest can only get stronger as artists like Katy Perry, 50 Cent, Kanye West and Hip Hop Mogul Russell Simmons have lended their support.

50 Cent recently made headlines stating that he is in favor of the Occupy Wall Street movement and what these people are trying to accomplish.

“It’s really them expressing themselves and saying that they want to make change in a different way,” 50 Cent said in an appearance on CNBC’s Power Lunch on Tuesday morning (October 25).(XXL Magazine)

Russell Simmons recently stated that he will bring hundreds of thousands of people to help protest.

“Last time I got involved in a protest I brought a hundred thousand people there, for the Rockefeller Drug Laws,” he said. “And if I get involved really heavily in this one, we find the agenda and have a common ground… we can bring hundreds of thousands of people… small seeds are planted, but it could grow into something very big.” (RawStory)
