Drake Take Care Cover & Tracklist

Take Care is set to be released in about two weeks on Tuesday, November 15th. Drake has apparently scrapped a few tracks that were leaked and loaded the album with nearly all new content.

"Feels like it’s been so long. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on November 15…I wouldn’t miss it for the world."

See you soon.

Occupy Wall Street Gains Support of the Hip Hop Community

With the Occupy Wall Street protest standing strong inside of Zucotti Park in New York City, the protest can only get stronger as artists like Katy Perry, 50 Cent, Kanye West and Hip Hop Mogul Russell Simmons have lended their support.

50 Cent recently made headlines stating that he is in favor of the Occupy Wall Street movement and what these people are trying to accomplish.

“It’s really them expressing themselves and saying that they want to make change in a different way,” 50 Cent said in an appearance on CNBC’s Power Lunch on Tuesday morning (October 25).(XXL Magazine)

Russell Simmons recently stated that he will bring hundreds of thousands of people to help protest.

“Last time I got involved in a protest I brought a hundred thousand people there, for the Rockefeller Drug Laws,” he said. “And if I get involved really heavily in this one, we find the agenda and have a common ground… we can bring hundreds of thousands of people… small seeds are planted, but it could grow into something very big.” (RawStory)

Students In Alabama Seek Help From Kanye West

Students in Alabama are depending on the aid from Kanye West to speak out against the current immigration bill.

"Almost 1,000 students have signed an online petition that is calling upon rap star Kanye West to speak out against Alabama’s new immigration law.
Kanye is currently in Birmingham, Alabama, where he is spending the month preparing for his “Watch the Throne” tour with Jay-Z.
The students are signing the petition on Change.org, in hopes of getting the superstar rap artist to meet with Civil Rights leaders, politicians and other influential individuals in Alabama, about HB 56.
The controversial bill has been labeled as supporting some of the most extreme anti-immigration legislation in the country.
The petition, which currently has 797 signatures, was organized by William Anderson, a student at University of Alabama Birmingham, as well as a longtime fan Kanye West.
“Like thousands of Kanye fans, I grew up listening to Hip-Hop, and it was one of the things that shaped my consciousness about race and justice,” said William Anderson, who launched the campaign on Change.org. “Alabama’s new immigration law is an attack on the state’s citizens, documented and undocumented. In the spirit of the social justice and hip hop, I hope that Kanye listens to his fans and takes a few minutes to learn and educate others about the crisis that is happening in Alabama.”
Kanye West has yet to respond and he will only be in Alabama until October 28." (AllHipHop)

Lost Ones (Official Video)

J. Cole releases a video for Lost Ones. I must say it captures the song's images perfectly.

J. Cole already working on Sophomore Album

The newly Sophomore J. Cole is already working on his sophomore album. That's what I call work ethics. Maybe he's hungry to make the classic that he thought Cole World: Sideline Story should have been. I'd prefer to see him make more beats for other rappers but hey if he's going to drop an album somewhere in 2012 I'm down. Still a Cole World.

New Music: Wale ft. Big Sean - 'Slightwork'

Comment: Man, I love Jedi Mind Tricks and their gritty sound.

Comment: Diggy brings his smooth style to this new track. Sounds perfect for the ladies.

Comment: The enigmatic Jay Elect makes another awesome track for the Hip-Hop religion with this beat that samples the game Call of Duty.

Comment- Using the Dubstep Beat Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites made by Skrillex, XV goes in on a Boss Level.

Comment- Rockie brought out a fire new song from his mixtape Driving 88. Despite the smoothness of the song, you can still hear that hunger from the up-and-coming Mr. Fresh.

Nastradamus: Prediction of the Next Rap Generation

Lately I have been thinking about the future of the culture and its influence on the lives of its listeners. We’re living in very weird times. The standards of Hip-Hop are being challenged not by the close minded politics we’re so used to but by the open minded children of the culture. New members of the mainstream such as Kendrick Lamar, Big Krit, Drake, Kid Cudi, Lil B, J. Cole, Odd Future, and Jay Electronica are busy at work destroying the columns that we have loved so. The fear that has been realized is actually understandable because we don’t know where we are heading on such a path. I however am not that worried because I believe that the new era will be the very opposite of our former era of gangsta glitz and will be one of greater enlightenment.

You can forget celebrating Drizzy's birthday by buying his sophomore album on October 24th. The Young Money standout announced via his October's Very Own blog that Take Care will pushed back to November 15 due to difficulty of clearing three samples. He also announced that his Club Paradise Tour will be delayed to 2012.

“My options were to take the songs off and make the birthday release happen, or to take an extra couple weeks to get the paper work right and give you the album they way I NEED you to hear it,” he wrote.
